UBC ‘Let’s Talk Bio-Engineering’

Friday May 27, 2016 – 8am to 4pm – FREE one day symposium focusing on theory and applications of bioengineering, providing insight into the field, introducing students to leading industry and academic professionals, and encouraging students to explore opportunities in science and engineering.  This event is geared towards young women in Grades 10 to 12, but is open to any student interested in participating.  Complete info at:    Registration mandatory by April 30, 2016

Operation Med School (OMS) – One day medical conference for students

This year’s conference takes place on Sat., April 30 (9am to 5pm) at the University of British Columbia’s West Mall Swing Space Building (2175 West Mall, V6T 1Z4).  Learn more about the field of medicine through activities and lectures by medical experts.  Network with professionals, current medical students, and other aspiring young doctors.  Tickets are $25 and lunch will be provided.  A portion of this year’s proceeds will be donated to Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society of Canada.  For more information visit

Veazey Scholarship Foundation

University of Alberta – Registration 101 Workshops

Provides students with an opportunity to learn how to navigate the Bear Tracks system for course registration, build a first-year schedule, and ask UAlberta staff questions.  UAlberta representatives will be hosting Registration 101 Workshops in Vancouver on Saturday, April 09, 2016 at the Four Seasons Hotel.  Complete info at:   Students are required to bring their own laptop to the sessions to be able to follow along with the demonstration and build a first year class schedule.
