This free action-packed Academy teaches 24 young people to work together in small teams and in challenging environments by providing training and mentorship. Some program content: use of fire apparatus and fire extinguishers, search and rescue techniques, self contained breathing apparatus, using the “jaws of life”, fundraising for a local charity, and more! Students & Parents/Guardians: The Find Your Fit Tour is a career exploration event that has interactive stations highlighting the top in-demand occupations in BC. Whether looking to support your child’s career exploration or researching your own prospects, this event will help guide the way. John Oliver Secondary will be hosting a free public session on Thur, Jan 28 from 3pm to 7pm. The address is 530 East 41st Ave, Vancouver, in the South Gym. Best parking is on the West side of the building, off St George St.
A winter festival showcasing live music, art, theatre and dance presented on Granville Island. A great opportunity for those who are interested in Hospitality, Tourism, Performing Arts, Entertainment, Event Management, or those who are simply looking to fulfill general volunteer requirements. You must have a friendly/outgoing personality, be comfortable speaking to the public, bilingualism (French and English) is an asset although it is not a requirement, be responsible and punctual. VSB Career Programs – Hosting Ed Camp Night on February 10, 2016 at Tupper Secondary.
